Looking Forward…Living Forward

  • GTCC Conference Center (Room 219) 7908 Leabourne Road Colfax, NC, 27235 (map)

Presenters: Susan Baggett, CPA, and Sanford Danziger, MD, MPH.

Seeing more of the wisdom that resides in each of us—and putting it to immediate use.

In 2017 an “elders wisdom circle,” Looking Forward...Living Forward, was conducted 62 times in Triad libraries, churches, Shepherd and community centers, Y’s, retirement communities and private homes. It uses structured questions such as, “What is a life experience you’ve had, and what did you learn from it?” The participants  came away from these lively discussion groups with a more positive attitude toward life and aging, recognizing their own wisdom and the wisdom of others in the room. Eighteen positive outcomes were commonly self-reported, using a post-intervention tool.

Program Description

Participants will first participate in a wisdom-circle exercise, designed for all ages, that helps to recognize at a deeper level, one’s own capacities and the capacities of the people in one’s life.
Then participants and presenters explore/describe how the exercise and experience can be used in one’s personal and professional coaching life.
