Zithobile "Zitty" Nxumalo, Ph.D., ACC is an ICF-certified executive leadership coach, consultant, and educator, and the founder and CEO of Deftable, LLC. Specializing in communication, emotional intelligence, and authentic leadership, she works with high-impact organizations including the Center for Creative Leadership. Dr. Z has experience in higher education, healthcare, nonprofit, and finance with clients ranging from the United Nations and the NFL to DoorDash and the University of Washington. She holds a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from North Carolina A&T State University and has served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at UNC-Greensboro and Wake Forest University.
Born in Eswatini (formerly Swaziland) and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina, her early experiences as an immigrant shaped a lifelong focus on resilience, human behavior, and belonging. A former financial representative at Northwestern Mutual, where she became the first woman in the Greensboro office to achieve the Pacesetter 40 milestone, Dr. Z brings a rare blend of relational depth and high-performance acumen to her coaching practice. Beyond her corporate work, Dr. Z co-founded Zodwa Dance Co., hosts The Ukuvusa Podcast, and has written for Forbes.com, HuffPost, and several local publications. She is also a recipient of the Triad Business Journal's 40 Leaders Under 40 award and the Leadership Greensboro Service Medal.
