1) What inspired you to pursue your current career or passion?
My passion is leadership and career development. I was inspired to pursue coaching in these areas through my leadership roles in a School of Nursing, corporate settings, and higher education. While developing a certificate program for nursing leaders, I came across a coaching course and decided to register. The experience was transformative. I began using coaching with doctoral students to support their research and with undergraduate students to support academic success. That experience led me to pursue a formal coaching certification from the Coaches Training Institute.
2) What’s a skill or strength that you’ve developed over the years that people might not know about?
Facilitating well-being retreats. My first retreat focused on boundaries and incorporated horses to deepen the learning experience. This year’s retreat centers on rest, resetting, and restoration. The venue is intentionally meditative and located in a natural setting to support reflection and renewal.
3) What hobbies or interests do you pursue outside of work?
International travel and live jazz music. My travel includes Africa, Ireland, Portugal, Hawaii, the Caribbean, and a Mediterranean cruise that included parts of Spain, France, and Italy. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to attend a jazz concert in Rotterdam, which beautifully combined both of my passions—travel and jazz. There are many more places I still hope to explore.
