Presenter: Art Pittman, ACC, Agile Coach and Adjunct Coach at The Center for Creative Leadership
What is the “dirty little secret of Information Technology?” Come find out when Art Pittman, Agile Coach & Leadership Coach, talks about his journey and experience as an IT insider working in such industries as Higher Ed, Finance, and Technology. Come help him (as he tries to) connect the dots between the skills you use as a Leadership Coach, those you use as an Agile Coach and in what context to use each.
Art will start by briefly exploring and comparing traditional or “waterfall” Project Management with Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban and Lean. He will discuss pros and cons of each and dig into the various team roles as well. The majority of the presentation will be about coaching skills and contexts. Because successful IT companies like Google and Facebook have moved to an empowered Team approach for developing their products, Art will define and discuss what an empowered team looks like and how one might change their approach as an Agile Coach and as a Leadership Coach.
As an attendee, you can expect to experience multiple learning strategies, a few Agile games and the thrill of learning something new about technology. Yay! Upon exiting the building, participants will be able to describe what Agile is, how it differs from traditional project management and how it has changed the product development game. They will also be able to describe key skills as well as the target audience for both Agile Coaching and Leadership Coaching in an Agile environment.
